How to Book a Kettle Corn Vendor for a NorCal Event

Hiring a kettle corn vendor for a Northern California event means booking a mobile popper who brings the kettle to you and pops fresh on-site. That’s what we do. We run two kettles out of the Yuba-Sutter area, travel from here toward Reno, and set up right at your fair, fundraiser, wedding, or company picnic. Here’s how to book us.

How booking works

The short version: call or email as soon as you know your date, and we’ll tell you if it’s open.

Popular weekends fill up, especially in fall when fairs, football, and festivals all land on the same Saturdays. So the earlier you reach out, the better your odds. Here’s the flow:

  • Tell us the basics: your date, your town, and what kind of event it is. That’s enough for us to check the calendar.
  • We confirm the date: we run two kettles, so on a busy weekend we can sometimes cover two events at once. If one date’s already claimed, we’ll say so straight.
  • We lock it in: we bring the booth, the kettle, the corn, and the crew, and pop fresh the whole event.

To start, email [email protected] or call Adam Baker at 530-315-8603.

What we need from you to set up

We travel light, but a booth popping over a hot kettle needs a few things. Here’s what to have ready:

  • Booth space: a flat spot, roughly a standard vendor footprint, with room for the tent and a little elbow room around the kettle.
  • Power, we’ve got it covered: if there’s an outlet, great. If not, we bring our large power station, so an open field works fine too.
  • Setup and breakdown time: we like to roll in before the gates open so we’re popping when the first people show up, and we need a little time after to pack out.

We pop on-site, in the open, so people can watch the kettle and smell it going. That’s half the draw at any event.

The events we do

We’ve been popping since 2015, and we work about every kind of event there is:

  • School and sports fundraisers: we bring the kettle to your school event and your group keeps a share. Here’s how our fundraisers work.
  • Weddings: fresh-popped kettle corn and a popcorn bar, plus cold lemonade for a summer reception.
  • Company picnics and community events: churches, clubs, corporate days, grand openings.
  • Fairs, festivals, and markets: the classic fairground setup, two kettles going.

And because fresh-squeezed lemonade is half our name, our Lemon Shakers can come along to the same booth. Warm kettle corn and cold lemonade covers a lot of ground on a hot day.

How far we travel

We’re based in the Yuba-Sutter area (Yuba City and Marysville, California), and we work across Northern California and out toward Reno, Nevada. If your event is in that range, we’d love to be there. If you’re not sure whether you’re in range, just ask, we’ll tell you honestly.

A quick, honest note on ingredients

Our classic kettle corn is four ingredients: mushroom-kernel popcorn, cane sugar, oil, and salt. Corn is a gluten-free grain, so the classic is naturally gluten-free. Our flavored batches each have their own additional ingredients, so if a guest is avoiding something, ask us at the booth and we’ll tell you exactly what’s in that day’s batch. Our booths are nut-free, though we’re a mobile popper working events, not a certified nut-free facility.
