Kettle Corn in Chester, Labor Day Weekend: Sep 5-6

Come find us in Chester over Labor Day weekend. Our kettle is booked both days of the art show at Collins Pine Park on Saturday and Sunday, September 5 and 6, 2026, up on Lake Almanor in Plumas County. We’ll be popping fresh kettle corn and shaking cold Lemon Shakers on-site. Look for the tent.

The quick version

Here’s what to know if you’re planning the weekend:

  • What: an outdoor art show at Collins Pine Park in Chester
  • When: Saturday and Sunday, September 5 and 6, 2026
  • Where: Collins Pine Park, right in downtown Chester on Lake Almanor
  • Us: both days, popping fresh kettle corn and shaking cold Lemon Shakers

Those September 5 and 6 dates are our confirmed booth days from our own Find Us calendar. For the show’s own hours and lineup, check the organizer once they post them.

Chester and Lake Almanor over Labor Day

Chester sits at the northwest end of Lake Almanor, up in the Plumas County pines (Plumas County). Labor Day is one of the last big summer weekends up here, and the lake, the trails, and the little downtown all stay busy before fall comes in. Collins Pine Park is a green, shaded spot right in town, an easy place to spend a cool morning.

If you’re driving up for the whole weekend, there’s plenty around the lake. Lake Almanor has swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, and the marinas rent everything from pontoons to paddle craft (Lake Almanor Area Chamber). One thing worth packing: up at this elevation the temperature can drop 15 to 20 degrees after sunset, even in early September, so bring a layer for the evening (Sierra Rec Magazine). Do the art show early while it’s cool, get out on the water in the afternoon, and grab a bag of kettle corn on the way through.

Where to find our kettle (and the Lemon Shakers)

Look for our tent both days. We pop our classic kettle corn fresh on-site, big round mushroom kernels, real cane sugar, oil, and salt, stirred by hand in the kettle right there. Classic and caramel are always on, with a few of the specialty flavors riding along.

Even up in the mountains, early September afternoons can run warm, so the other half of the booth is the cold half: fresh-squeezed Lemon Shakers, shaken to order, plus iced tea and Arnold Palmers. A warm bag of kettle corn and a cold lemonade is about the right way to walk an art show.

One honest note if you ask: our classic kettle corn is naturally gluten-free, just corn, cane sugar, oil, and salt. The flavored batches each have their own additional ingredients, so ask us at the booth and we’ll tell you what’s in that day’s batch. Our booths are nut-free, though we’re not a certified nut-free facility.
