Kettle Corn at Johnny Appleseed Days, Paradise: Oct 3-4

We’re popping fresh at Johnny Appleseed Days in Paradise, both days, Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, 2026. It’s the one weekend a year our Caramel Apple kettle corn is the star of the booth, crisp apple and warm caramel, made for an apple festival. Come find the tent at Terry Ashe Park and grab a bag.

The quick version

Here’s what to know if you’re planning the weekend:

  • What: Johnny Appleseed Days, an autumn harvest festival in Paradise, CA (Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce)
  • Where: Terry Ashe Park, 6626 Skyway, Paradise (Paradise Ridge Chamber)
  • When: the festival runs Saturday, October 3 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday, October 4 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) (Paradise Ridge Chamber)
  • Our booth: both days, October 3 and 4, 2026, popping fresh kettle corn and shaking cold Lemon Shakers

Those October 3 and 4 dates are our confirmed booth days from our own Find Us calendar. For the festival’s full lineup and any hour changes, check the Chamber’s page.

A little about Johnny Appleseed Days

This one has been around a while. Johnny Appleseed Days was first held in 1888 and the Chamber calls it the oldest harvest festival in the state (Paradise Ridge Chamber). It celebrates Paradise’s orchard roots, with fresh apples from Noble Orchards and an Apple Pie Pavilion right there at the park (Paradise Ridge Chamber).

There’s plenty going on besides the pie. Artisans come from around the state selling handmade crafts, the Gazebo Stage runs hometown entertainment through the day, and the children’s area has nostalgic games plus Johnny Appleseed himself telling stories with fruit for the kids (Paradise Ridge Chamber). It’s a good, easy fall day out in the pines above Chico.

The Caramel Apple tradition

Every year at Johnny Appleseed Days we put our Caramel Apple kettle corn front and center. Crisp apple and warm caramel popped into the corn, made for an apple festival. It’s become our tradition for this weekend, and it’s the one event where it leads the board instead of riding along. Come early if you want a bag while it’s fresh, because it goes.

Classic and caramel are always on too, and a few of the other specialty flavors come along for the ride. The full lineup rotates, so ask what’s fresh that day.

Where to find our kettle (and the Lemon Shakers)

Look for our tent both days. We pop our classic kettle corn fresh on-site, big round mushroom kernels, real cane sugar, oil, and salt, stirred by hand in the kettle right there. It’s the same way we’ve done it since 2015.

October in Paradise can still run warm in the afternoon, so the other half of the booth is the cold half: fresh-squeezed Lemon Shakers, shaken to order, plus iced tea and Arnold Palmers. A warm bag of caramel apple corn and a cold lemonade is about the right way to walk a fall festival.

One honest note if you ask: our classic kettle corn is naturally gluten-free, just corn, cane sugar, oil, and salt. The flavored batches, Caramel Apple included, each have their own additional ingredients, so ask us at the booth and we’ll tell you what’s in that day’s batch. Our booths are nut-free, though we’re not a certified nut-free facility.
