What the fair is
The Lost Sierra Artists & Crafters Fair is a local art and craft show set up outdoors at Herb Rowe Memorial Park, right in the middle of Graeagle (event listing). Walk the booths, meet the makers, enjoy a warm August day up in the mountains. It’s a smaller, friendly kind of show, the sort where you actually talk to the person who made the thing you’re buying.
Heads up, this is not the bigger Graeagle Arts & Crafts Fair that happens back in July. Different weekend, different event. This one’s the August fair.
Where to find our kettle (and the Lemon Shakers)
Look for our tent. We’ll be popping our classic kettle corn fresh on-site, big round mushroom kernels, real cane sugar, salt, stirred by hand in the kettle right there. Classic and caramel are always on, and a few of the specialty flavors ride along too.
August in Graeagle gets warm, so the other half of our booth is the cold half: fresh-squeezed Lemon Shakers, shaken to order in nine flavors, plus iced tea and Arnold Palmers. A bag of warm kettle corn and a cold lemonade is about the right way to walk an art fair.
One honest note for anyone who asks: our booths are nut-free, but we’re a mobile popper working fairs, not a certified nut-free facility. Our classic kettle corn is just corn, cane sugar, oil, and salt, so it’s naturally gluten-free. The flavored batches each have their own extra ingredients, so ask us at the booth and we’ll tell you exactly what’s in that day’s batch.
Making a weekend of it in Graeagle
Graeagle sits up in Plumas County in the Lost Sierra, and there’s plenty around the fair if you’re driving up for the day or the weekend. Mill Pond is a short hop for swimming, kayaking, or paddle board or boats, and Plumas-Eureka State Park nearby has hiking, fishing, and history tours in summer (Plumas County, Graeagle guide). Do the fair in the morning while it’s cool, cool off at the water, come back for a bag of kettle corn on the way out.
